PROJECT

Deep Valley was the country’s first certified biodynamic coffee. The company’s founder asked us to introduce industry media unfamiliar with biodynamic farming to his coffee’s unique path from soil to cup. A year later Deep Valley Coffee was certified as regenerative, another first.
We and Deep Valley’s founder felt it was high time to highlight the certification icons found on packaging and websites. As we touted the benefits and full magnificent flavor of this breakout coffee we reminded people of the significance of these badges of honor.

Deep Valley Coffee’s Badges of Honor
Certified USDA Organic
Because organic soil is richer organic coffee has a higher nutritional value. Think riboflavin (Vitamin B2) niacin (Vitamin B3) magnesium potassium and antioxidants. The USDA Organic certification ensures that Deep Valley Coffee is produced without pesticides or herbicides and is completely free of GMOs.
Certified Regenerative Organic
Regenerative Organic is a new revolutionary certification that goes beyond organic. Some of the regenerative farming practices we employ include cover crops intercropping and carbon sequestration. These practices improve the quality of the land and the lives of the flora and fauna that inhabit it.
Certified Demeter Biodynamic
Because biodynamic coffee oxidizes much more slowly than other coffees it maintains its full magnificent flavor for months longer. As biodynamic coffee growers we see ourselves as part of nature not separate from it and are always guided by its cycles and vital forces. In farming biodynamically we support soil health and biodiversity countering the harm done by industrial agriculture worldwide.

Deep Valley Story

Our Founder—Robert Flam
As a young man starting his work life our founder was already passionate about whiskey. So he interviewed with Bacardi the company behind Dewar’s Scotch Whiskey. A practitioner of “Foodism” early on Robert talked to his soon-to-be employer about the difference between drinking and tasting. “I want to teach people to pay attention to dial into the experience and taste.” As a marketing director for one of the world’s best-known whiskeys he did just that in countries around the world. As a conscientious entrepreneur and the founder of Deep Valley Coffee Robert holds to the same principle and high standard: When our coffee is truly tasted it is a sublime pleasure.
passion tasted, it is a sublime pleasure.
